Well the weeks seem to rush by at the moment and it is quite scary!!!Am busy getting the compost on my garden and vegetable plants in. On the top of my list this year will be more chilli’s to make sweet chilli sauce…so easy to grow and so productive. Aubergines are already in as I learnt a new dish while in France this year and it was superb and I want to try it out as last year I had such an abundance of those gorgeous purple vegetables.
Will be trying out a new pepper called Padron…Spanish…. you chargrill them just a little in hot oil, sprinkle with salt and eat. A firm favourite in all the tapas bars in Spain. Managed to find some seeds from Kings seeds.
I have a recipe for bottling cherry tomatoes on the vine from a friend in Wellington who has 2 cafes and comes up with great ideas, so looking forward to trying these. They look stunning in the jars!!
Lettuces are in, herb seeds planted, strawberries are tucked in with some straw, red cabbage romping away, leeks standing proud, artichoke starting to show its dominance and garlic doing its thing….even the peas are away…how I love my vegetable garden!!!!!
Am off to Auckland next week as it is the presentation of the NZ House and Garden interiors awards. My kitchen has been chosen with 3 others as a finalists in the kitchen section!! Will be a fun evening I am sure!!
Classes are filling up for Christmas..quite a few groups are booking a class and lunch which is always fun (min 6 for this ). There are a few spaces left in some of the classes so check out what is available. It will also be fun decorating my house leading up to Christmas!! as my friends know I love Christmas and always collecting decorations on my travels!!!
