Winter time is a great excuse for sitting by the roaring fire and reviewing a new cookbook, my latest read is MY UNDERGROUND KITCHEN by Jess Daniell. With over 80 mouth watering recipes for home cooks. Not only are the recipes tasty, they are easy to prepare and the recipes are divided into seasons which makes ingredient sourcing so much easier. The ingredients are not difficult to find, in fact most are very easy to find, you just need to use the freshest you can find.
I would say that Jess’s recipes are rustic looking…great for casual dining but so tasty. I have tried the Honey mustard chicken, so easy served with garlic mash and a fresh green salad. Last night with unexpectant friends turning up and some lovely high grade beef mince in the fridge,I made Jess’s Beef and Mozzarella lasagne. I am not a huge lasagne lover but this was so tasty..it has a lot of wonderful warming spices that just puts it into another league!!!
There are so many other recipes in this book that I will be trying, Beef pho noodle soup , cauliflower pizza crust , chicken chorizo paella, Green goddess pasta, Cajun meatballs with cannellini bean stew,….and this is just to name a few.
So often you buy a cookbook and find maybe 2 new recipes…this cookbook is the opposite and I can see it will get a lot of use in my kitchen RRP 49.99
