Christmas in Melbourne

Seems ages since I added to my blog but I had a really busy year with classes and I flew to Melbourne for a well earned break over Christmas and to catch up with family.

In my classes I have often talked about my wonderful dining experience at Vue de Monde in Melbourne, I can add to the list as I had a fantastic meal in a restaurant  in Flinders lane Melbourne Central called CHINCHIN..it has an Asian flavour and the food was out of this world. Make sure you go for the Feed me menu $69.They take no bookings so get there about 5pm, line up and they will take your booking which could be up to 2 hours later….they text you when your table is ready so can either have drinks in their bar below the restaurant or go shopping and wait for your phone to ring.

Another fantastic casual place to dine is Claypots in St Kilda..This is a seafood restaurant. Try a spicy seafood claypot, we also had a whole baked snapper. The outside courtyard is lovely and the food fresh, spicy and divine!!!No bookings so for an evening meal get there before 6.30 if you wish to dine straight away.

Also..try one of  the restored restaurant trams…yes I was a bit dubious  and thought it may have been very commercialised ,but the food was superb and I was amazed how good the quality was considering the chef has a very small area to work in, glasses  continuously topped up and two hours of tramming around Melbourne. The waiter was such good fun and  added to the whole experience.
